Abstract
This study aims to analyze the management of the Connect Team at IFGF Jakarta as a strategic entry point for new member integration into discipleship communities and leadership development pathways. The research examines the application of George R. Terry’s POAC framework (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling) and evaluates its relationship with Samuel R. Chand’s organizational culture (CULTURE) model.
The study employs a qualitative descriptive case-study design using a theological-managerial approach. Data were collected through the analysis of ministry documents, organizational structures, and operational practices within the Connect Team ministry of IFGF Jakarta. The data were analyzed using the POAC management framework and the CULTURE organizational culture perspective.
The findings indicate that the Planning function is reflected in the Connect Team’s vision as a gateway to iCare communities and leadership development. Organizing is demonstrated through clear role allocation, cross-departmental collaboration, and structured congregational data management. Actuating is implemented through vision impartation, volunteer empowerment, and servant-oriented leadership, while Controlling is carried out through follow-up evaluation, accountability, and ministry assessment. The results further reveal that trust, open communication, shared ownership, and servant leadership significantly strengthen ministry effectiveness.
The study concludes that the integration of POAC and a healthy organizational culture enhances the effectiveness, sustainability, and long-term impact of Connect Team ministry in facilitating new member integration within the local church.
